A record consignment of apples has been shipped from Melbourne to England. Mr. Charles Cuming, editor of the “On the Land” column of the “New Zealand Times.” has been appointed Editor of Government Publications in succession to the late Mr. Geo. Bisset. Concerning the lecture to be given by the Rev. J. J. North in fit. Matthew’s Hall to-morrow evening, the Wanganui “Chronicle says: “Probably not for years has a lecture been given in the town, which for informational value, entertainment, and high moral feel, ing, has surpassed that given by Mr. North.”
