AUSTRALIAN RETURNS. (Received 25, 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, Mar. 25. The population of the Commonwealth at the end of last year was 4.482,896. an increase for the year of 108,758. The number of males exceeded females by 518,202. Tasmania’s male population was two less than in the previous year, while females had increased by 337.
