FOOTBALL.
ROVERS CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Rovers Football Club was held in the Albert Hotel, Hastings, last evening. The report and balance-sheet, showing a small credit balance, were adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year :—Patron, Mr. E. J. Watt; president, Mr. C. O’Donoghue; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Ross, J. Garnett, T. H. Lowry, L. Miller, J. B. Mackay, F. King, G. P. Donnelly, H. M. Campbell. W. Lane, A. F. Douglas, C. Biel, A. Grenside, A. J. Ellingham, J. Flynn, L. De Pelichet, and J. Macfarlane; club captain, H. Krogh; committee, H. Clarke, D. Casey. C. Ellingham, G. Nesbitt, and Gigg ; delegates to Hastings Sub-Union, Messrs. T. Nesbitt, F. Stowe, and J. Garnett; secretary, Mr. W. O’Neill. It was decided to enter for the senior and junior competitions only, and that the election of field captain should take place at the first match.
It was decided to open the season on Saturday, April T, with a match against the Celtic Club. Several new members were elected.
