Grey’s speech, and looks to the future for the realisation of a Peace union between the English speaking peoples. FEELING IN JAPAN. (Received 22, 9.30 a.m.) Tokio, Mar. 21. A motion in the Diet condemning the Government’s policy regarding British and American treaties was negatived by a large majority. j CHURCH APPLAUDS THE PROPOSALS. i London. Mar. 21. I The Catholic Bishops of Salford i and Nottingham, and Rev. Father ; Bernard Vaughan, applaud the pro-j posals of President Taft and Sir E. ’ Grey. CARDINAL LOGUE LACKS ! CONFIDENCE. Cardinal Logue whilst desiring universal peace, said he has no confidence in the movement while millions were being screwed from the poor to build Dreadnoughts. He was not hopeful that President Taft and Sir E. Grey would conclude the treaty before better with Germany were established,j and the Irish question settled.
