HASTINGS LOAN EXPENDITURE.

A special meeting of the Hastings Borough Council will be held on Thursday evening next to consider a report on sewer expenditure, and the following motion brought down by the sub-committee elected to go into the matter of kerbing anc channelling, etc.: “That the engineer having stated that certain portions of the roads, about M miles, have been left out of his estimate for kerbing and channelling, that he report the reason why and explain fully the position at the next special meeting of the Co tin cil, submitting all former official reports on the matter. The committee also recommend that the Council arrange about the expenditure of the balance of the loan.” Other business to be transacted includes the consideration of tenders for annual contracts, and Mr. H W. Climes’ report on reservoir or. the Havelock Hills.
