THE VARAWA CASE.
A CLAIM FOR £25,000.
(Received 21, 8 a.m.) Melbourne, Mar. 21. Peter Varawa has commenced a new action against the Howard Smith Company, and is claiming £25,000 damages for false imprisonment in connection with the sale of the steamer Peregine during the Russo-Japanese war. In the former action Varawa obtained a verdict for £5OOO, but an appeal upset the decision.
