FRENCH WINE DISTRICTS.
REVOLUTIONARY MEETINGS. Paris, Mar. 20. Revolutionary meetings have been held at Aube. Ten thousand people armed with hoes and carry- . ing grape baskets in which were boxes of assessment papers—afterwards burnt in the market place — declined to pay the taxes, and effaced the motto, “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite,” with red paint from the public buildings. The Premier of Monis was burned in effigy. The Municipal Councils of 40 towns have resigned.
