The fire brigades competitions were concluded this evening, and the official results are as follows: —

Hose, Hydrant, and Union, 5 men.—Timaru, 44 3-ssec, 1; Hillside Railway, 45 3-ssec, 2; Dunedin South, 48 2-ssec, 3; Dunedin City, 48 4-ssec, 4; Napier. 51sec, 5; Wanganui, 52sec, 6. The undermentioned teams finished in the order named : —Hastings, Spit, Masterton, Maori Hill, Petone, Carterton, Hokitika, Te Aroha, Greymouth, Hamilton, Waimate, Caversham, Eltham, Patea, Invercargill, Karangahake. The following were “ blown out ” Kumara, Devonport, Alexandra, Marton, Onehunga. Mount Eden, Westport, Roslyn, Addington Railway. Disabled Hose, 5 men. —Wanganui, 73sec, 1 : Invercargill, 74 4-5 sec, 2; Napier, 76 4-ssec, 3; Timaru, 78sec, -r; Dannevirke, 80sec, 5 ; Alexandra South, 82sec, 6. The following teams finished in the order mentioned :—Dunedin South, Hillside Railway, Onehunga, Hokitika, Carterton and Greymouth a tie, Oamaru, Gisborne, Naseby.
