LONGE RANGE GUNS.

(Received 9, 9.25 a.m.) Paris, March 8. The Chamber of Deputies voted two Dreadnoughts. M. Jaures proposed they should. be armed with 13.5 in. guns. M. Delcasse, Minister of Marine, replied that 12.2 in. guns had the same penetrating power at 6000 metres as 13.5 in. guns at 9000 metres, but a target was vaguely visible ■ at 9000 metres, and rarely ships. were able to profit by a long range ? of firing.
