Joseph Alexander Henderson, 14 years old, son of Mr. Samuel Henderson, a retired farmer, was found last night electrocuted in the Hawera Courtty Electric Company’s transformer at Normanby. No other particulars are available.

SUNDAY REFRESHMENTS. Auckland, Mar. 8.

Mr. Kettle, S.M., in giving his reserved judgment in the test case against the proprietor of refreshment rooms, charged with a breach of the Police Offences Act in supplying refreshments on Sunday afternoon, said the Court had been driven to hold it was a work of necessity in the meaning of section 17, to supply meals in hotels, boarding-houses, and refreshment rooms. N o good end would be served by endeavouring to ascertain what number of meals or kind of refreshments are necessary to the public and what are not. He dismissed the information.
