H.B.A. AND P. SOCIETY.

TENTH AUTUMN SHOW.

Although as far as the general public is concerned the Autumn Show has not yet opened, the judging of exhibits commenced this afternoon. The scene in the produce shed is one of animation and bustle in the preparation of the various stands, and with the extra accommodation recently provided in | this department, the available • space will still be taxed to its utmost capacity. i One of the most striking exhibits I in the produce shed is that of the Hastings branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, wherein the products of the Hawke’s Bay district are shown to their best advantage. Unfortunately there is only one exhibit in this section. Keen interest has been shown in the schools’ agricultural section, open to schools within the Hawke’s Bay Education District, and this is exemplified in the large number of entries received. Williams and Kettle have a fine display of produce and merchandise, at the entrance to the shed, and the contents are set off in a manner which cannot fail to arrest attention.

Seeds, Insecticides, poultry, etc., form the subjects of the exhibits of the well knewn seed merchants, Armstrong and Haining. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Association’s display is of produce and merchandise. R. Braithwaite and Son show Eng’s Milk Agitator and Cooler. G. F. Roach is exhibiting Magolica ware.

Artificial manures, tallow, pelts, etc., comprise the display of Thos. Borthwick and Sons.

The Hawke’s Bay Fruitgrowers’ Association are to the front with a magnificent display of all varieties of fruit.

The well-known Premier Nurseries, of Thos. Horton, Ltd., are represented by a unique display of fruit and horticulture. In the outside stands Messrs. Davis and Boyd, motor car importers, have an exhibit of each of the different makes for which the firm are agents. Mr. R. Sorenson has a display of vehicles in which the splendid work manship for which the firm is so favourably known is seen. •
