THE CORONATION.
It is understood that only one member of the House of Represen-. tatives has replied to Sir Joseph Ward stating that he would be willing to accept the invitation of the British Parliamentary Committee to the Coronation celebrations. The Government has. therefore, had to decline the invitation. For some reason not stated, t »s understood that members of the Upper House were not circularised by the Prime Minister in regard to the invitation. Mr. Gallagher, secretary of the H.B. Liberal Association, has received the following telegram from the Premier:—"l sincerely thank the Liberals of Hawke’s Bay for the confidence expressed on my behalf in connection with my mission to London, which I shall do my best to justify. The kind wishes for a pleasant trip are much ap-j preciated by Lady Ward and myself. Au re voir.” I
