ALLEGED IMPROPER TRADING

Ashburton, Feb. 28. At a special meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board to-day, Mr. Hugo Friedlander, chairman, tendered his resignation, which was accepted with regret. This is the outcome of a case which is pending against Mr. Friedlander on information laid by Mr. Henry Davis, another member of the board, for being interested in the supplying of goods to the board exceeding £lO in value during one financial year.
