The weather is beautiful and the ; tracks are splendid, but nothing . sensational was done this morning. ; Kopu and Shining Star, associated, i ran a mile and a-half ’at a gallop, j Kilosteri joining in the last seven i furlongs and finishing well in front j of Kopu, whose time was 2min 43 | 3-ssec. The Cup candidate strode i out well for the first mile. Shining ! Star was unimpressive; Miss Mis- | chief and Vice-admiral went a round at half-pace; Boanerges ran six furlongs, the first four fast, then easing off. St. Felix beat Laius by two lengths over a mile ; Woodhey, Hummingbird, and Bootle did half-pace work; Merrivonia, who has evidently done solid prepara-j tion, took a couple of curcuits at ai solid pace; Torbelle and Playmate, j associated, went over hurdles a mile and a-half, the latter was best ' in all matters. Roosevelt, Taft, | and Grandee finished in that' order at the end ot half-a-mile ;' Xavier went a slow pace over hur-; dies; Bronze ran half-a-mile in 51 i | sec. ; Esmeh, Winning Post, Par-i I able, and Montiform all did three-1 ; quarter pace work.
