LABOUR MARTERS
LITHGOW STRIKE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT. J (Received 24, 9.55 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 24. Mr. Beeby offered the parties In the Lithgow dispute the services of a Judge for friendly settlement of the dispute. The men but the proprietors replied that there was no need, as an expert would soon have the blast furnaces working normally.
ACCIDENTS IN MINES. (Received 24, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 24. During the year 61 fatal mining accidents have occurred in N.S.' Wales, an average of 2.51 per thousand of persons employed. This is the highest rate reached, excepting in the year of Mount Kembla disaster.
COCKLE CREEK STRIKE.
(Received 24, 9.4 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 24. Strikers at the sulphide corporation works at Cockle Creek decided to resume work.
