CYCLING.

Timaru, Feb. 23. In the cycle road race from Timaru to Geraldine and back (about 50 miles), W. L. Oldham (Christchurch) made the fastest time, 2hrs 17min 42sec. Fifteen started. The roads were loose from the dry weather. Sydney, Feb. 23. Schneider, who represents Australia in the Festival of Empire team, to-day broke several Australasian records. He covered a flying quarter-mile in 26 3-ssec unpaced, a half-mile in 55 4-ssec unpaced, and a mile in 2min 1 3-ssec.
