Human blood and hair was found on an iron bar exhumed. Witnesses deposed that the cart trades near the sanitary depot corresponded with Smart’s cart, which was of unusual make. The agar of the foundry said that Smart was absent on March 14th and 15th. He complained of sickness, but attended to his horse. A blacksmith said he saw Smart spreading ashes in the shed where the body was burieo. Asked why he did not take the ashes to the reclamation works, he replied that the authorities disallowed this, which was contrary to fact as the authorities are anxious to get such | material. The case was adjourned.
