THE SECRET OF LIFE.

Will man be able to live for ever? According to French authorities, the problem of the artificial preservation of life has been solved at l&stThis important biological discovery has been made by Dr. Alexis Carrel, of the Rockefeller Institute of New York, and his assistant. Montrose T. Burrows. Their first experiments were made on dogs, cats, and full-grown frogs. Parrels of tissues and of organs belonging to t’ ese animals were placed in a plasmatic medium; composed of fibreless blood coming from the same rredr-m sealed up in tubes, placed in a warm temperature. &kin, spl°en k’dnev.s, glands, etc were all thus treated, and it was definitely proved that such tissues and organs can exist and develop outside the body! Under the microscope, in less than three weeks, the exnen’menters saw a piece of skin double in size, and. nerves grow larger by several millimetres! The scientists declare that the culture of living cel’s can >be as easily accomplished as those of any microbe, and that they will be able also shortly to solve the great cancer prob!ein.
