STOWAWAYS’ FEARFUL DEATH. (Received 10, 8.55 a.m.) London, Feb. 9. The liner Hero from Dunkirk arrived at Hull with one of her holds on fire. When the fire was extinguished the bodies of three stowaways, foreigners, were found. It is supposed their smoking was the cause of the fire. PORT OF NAPIER. HIGH WATER TO-MORROW. Huddart, Parker and Co.’s Wimmera arrived from Sydney- via northern ports yesterday morning and sailed for southern ports at 3.30 p.m. the same day. The Union Company’s Monowai arrived from Southern ports at 10 o’clock this afternoon and leaves at 8.30 p.m. for Gisborne and Auckland. Passengers for Sydney tranship to the Maheno at Auckland.
The Kaipara left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Napier and arrived here this morning. The Knight of the Garter left for Wellington last night. The Ripple arrived from Wellington early yesterday morning and sailed, for Gisborne last night. The Tangaroa left for Wairoa at 9 o’clock this morning.
The Te Aroha returned from Wairoa last night and is expected to sail for the same port this evening
The Union Company’s Wa.nn.ka loads produce; at the Bluff on the 16th, Oamaru 17th, and Timaru. IBth and 19th inst. for Napier, Gisborne and Auckland.
The. Kimis due here on Monday ' from Westport ria Lyttelton with a part load of coal.
