GOVERNMENT AID REFUSED. 1 • (Received 9, 10.55 p.m.) ! London, Feb. 8. ■ The Earl of Denbigh appealed to ‘ Government for assistance of the i beet sugar industry. Earl Carrington, president of the Board of Agriculture, in reply, said the request amounted to the old policy of dry nursing infant industries and Government would have nothing to do with it.
