HAVELOCK SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

I The Havelork North School Comi mittee met last evening. Present: Messrs. H. A. Mossman (chairman). iJ. (Runciman. J. Phillips. J. I Davis. 1,. Cooper. H. Joll. and R. , Tucker. I The Headmaster reported that [ the school had opened with a good i attendance, and that Mr. Stafford, t probationer, had reported for duty. The annual picnic was arranged I for Friday. 17th inst.. in a paddock I kindly lent by Mr. Henry Joll. A sub-committee was appointed to ; act with the staff in making ar- ■ rangements.

The Education Board wrote stating that they had recommended the Education Department to erect another room, as requested. Some small accounts were passed for payment, and Messrs. Joll and Tucker were appointed a visiting committee for one month.
