NAPIER MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

MONDAY. FEBRUARY 6th.

(Before Mr. S. E. McCarthy, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. A first offender for drunkenness was convicted and fined 20/- and 2/costs, in default 48 hours. PROCURING LIQUOR. Leonard Beach was charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order against him. Mr. Dolan appeared for the accused, and asked that he be leniently dealt with. Convicted and fined 40/- and 7/- costs, or seven days’ imprisonment. William Edward Coran was similarly charged, and also with being on licensed premises. On the first charge he was fined 40/-, and costs 7/-, in default seven days. On the second charge he was convicted and discharged. LEAVING A TRAP. Percy Stevens was charged with leaving his horse and trap without the wheel of the trap being properly tied. Convicted and discharged. PROHIBITION ORDER.

A prohibition order was issued against a local resident on the application of his son.
