SECOND MATE INJURED.

Westport, Feb. 4. When the steamer Pukaku was swinging her stern line slipped from the chock, and struck Mr. A. Reid, second officer, in the small of the back. The line threw him against the wharf and into the river. He was rescued, and taken to the hospital. He sustained some injuries.
