HASTINGS UNITED FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ SPORTS CLUB.

The Committee of the above club held their annual meeting in the Grand Hotel last night, Mr. T. Styles presiding over an attendance of fourteen "members. The secretary presented the bal-ance-sheet of the last meeting, which showed a credit balance of £6

5/2. On discussing the balance-

sheet the chairman stated that it must be considered most satisfactory as the day. on which the sports were held was not at all fine. The balance-sheet was adopted. Mr. T. Styles was re-elected as chairman for the fifth consecutive year. Mr. T. Keith was re-elected as s secretary, and Mr. 0. Lean, Haveiock North, as treasurer. It was decided to hold the next sports meeting on Easter Monday (April 17th). A committee consisting of Messrs. Maggin. Davidson, i Boyle. Meade, C. Hopkins. Bam- | forth. W. Lane, and Fotheringham. | was elected to go into the matter of j the programme and to submit a j draft programme to a future meeting. The meeting concluded with a * vote of thanks to the chair.
