METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club Metropolitan Committee was held at Hastings on Friday. Present :— Messrs. G. Hunter (chairman). L. de Pelichet, C. L. Mackersey. T. E. Crosse. H. M. Campbell, J. C. McVay. F. Logan. G. L. Sunderland, E. J. Watt, W. J. Douglas and the Hon. J. D. Ormond. Correspondence was dealt with as follows New Zealand Racing Conference, judgment in the Mendip-Vi appeal c.'ve. upholding the Metropolitan t 'mnmittee’s decision. <I. P. Donnelly as to commission for reduction of totalizator permits. Sub-committee consisting of Messrs. J. C. McVay, G. Hunter, and E. J. Watt appointed to consider the question. H. G. Paul with regard to riding at unregistered meetings.—Resolved that the trainer’s license held by Paul be cancelled. T. Quinlivan, regarding an apprentice leaving before the termination of his apprenticeship.— Usual notice in official calendar to be published. Wairoa Racing Club, with respect to protest in Maiden Handicap.— Full particulars of inquiry to be asked for. as provided under Part xxxi. of the Rules of Racing. T. Quinlivan. jun., claim on accident fund, £1 5 6, for F. Smith.— Agreed to.
Licenses were granted as follows : Jockey. S. Carncross ; gentlemen riders. Messrs. G. H. Williams. E. G. Kelly. R. Pitman and E. R. Black.
HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB
The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Chib Committee met on Friday. Mr. G. Hunter presiding.
The interim statement for the .'iimnier meeting, showing a surplus of L'62>. was laid on the table. The secretary was instructed to write to the Borough Council protesting against the dangerous wayin which the Southland road is left after laying sewer. It was resolved that a general meeting of members be held for the purpose of the election of members on March 3rd.
Accounts amounting to £162 0 3 were passed for payment.
