PRINTERS’ DISPUTE. PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT., London, Feb. 3. The Board of Trade is mediating in the printers’ dispute. A conference was opened and adjourned. PRINTERS STRIKE ON MONDAY. (Received 4, 9.5 a.m.) The Board of Trade’s mediation in the printers’ dispute has been fruitless. The printers are striking on Monday. TRANENT COLLIERS CLOSED. London, Feb. 3. -The Tranent Colliery has closed after working for six centuries. Some hundreds are rendered idle in consequence. BRITISH RAILWAY STRIKE PENDING. (Received 4, 8.0 a.m.) London, Feb. 3.
The North Eastern Railway Company dismissed, after the expiration of notice, five porters at Hull station for declining to act as checkers without extra pay. The men’s demand was resisted on the ground of (he Conciliation Conference considering the whole circumstances of employment in this grade of service, and the men should await the decision.
Railwaymen at Hull resolved to strike to-night unless the porters are reinstated. The men at Sunderland and Middlesbrough resolved to support them.
MEN COME OUT TO NIGHT

Three thousand railwaymen are striking to-night at Hull, despite the Amalgamated Society’s declaration that to strike without notice is unconstitutional.
BRITISH LABOUR CONGRESS. London, Feb. 3. The Leicester conference has closed. It instructed its executive to re-introduce immediately the Bill to reverse the Osborne judgment, and called on Government to deal with unemployment on the lines of the patty’s Right to Work Bill.

The Federal Council of the Builders and Labourers’ Federation discussed the situation arising out of the failure of the Conference. Certain resolutions were adopted, but arc undisclosed. It is believed early and important developments are pending.
