Both contestants have a large following of backers, and all are equally sanguine of being on the winning side. Both fighters have trained to ton cert pitch, and should enter the ring very fit. Blackmore has a. knowledge of ringcraft that must stand .him in good stead, and give .him a chance of stopping the triumphal march of the New Zealander. Rudd’s advantage in height and

reach, and the amount of avoirdupois he puts into his pommelling; should place him right in the fight, and the fact that none of his lights —save one- have lasted more than two rounds, has to be reckoned with. The star bout is limited to fifteen rounds. Some good curtain raisers arcpromised. L. Robinson, who wrested the bantam-weight title from Billy Wenand at Gisborne time ago. will be up against VL»L Marks. Hastings : and W. Ctttwford ( of Hastings) and Leu Porter are billed to go fifteen rounds. Poth of these contests will decide ; the owners of purses of £l5 each.
