HAWKE’S BAY FRUITGROWERS* ASSOCIATION.
A general meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Fruitgrowers’ Asso ciation was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Hastings, on Saturday afternoon, Mr. F. Cook presiding over an attendance of twenty members.
I One new member was elected. Mr. W. S. Davidson forwarded his resignation as a member of the Association owing to his having disi posed of his fruit farm.—Accepted | with regret. i ' The quotation of Williams am I Kettle for the supply of red oil wa< i accepted. W. A. Boucher. Department o! Agriculture, forwarded informatioi with regard to frost control, and r. specimen fire-pot similar to that used in California. Mr. Boucher expressed the opinion that in ordei to derive the best results in the way of prevention of injury by frost, more shelter belts will rej quire to be planted in Hawke’s * Bay. Systematic experiments for I frost control would be carried out { at the Arataki Experimental Farm | shortly. Received. This was all the business.
