STEAMER ON THE ROCKS

( Received 16, 9.15 a.tn.) Adelaide, Jan. 16.

The steamer Time is ashore at Beachport North and is a total wreck. The jcrew were lauded safely. The vessel was proceeding to Melbourne with a cargo of salt, when she struck tne rocks during a fog. The steamer Kyarra stood by and rendered assistance.

A MYSTERY SOLVED. Gisborne, Jan. 16. The captain of the steamer Regulus reports passing the barque Helen, ten miles west of Stephens Island, at o o'clock on Saturday evening. Several sails were torn, but apparently all else was well with the ship. She is probably the vessel sought for by the Hinemoa.
