Mr. G. F. Roach returned to Hastings last night from Auckland. Mr. H. D. Grocott, Wellington, is at present in Napier. The friends of Miss Vida Munro, hear that she attained the highest marks for practical work in the recent musical examinations at Auckland University. Mrs. Peter Stewart, of Levin, aged sixty years, died yesterday. She was formerly a resident at Dunedin and Palmerston North. She resided at Levin for the last twenty years. Hon. R. McKenzie arrived a’ Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning, and went on to Cass to inspect the Midland Railway works. He will return to Christchurch to-morrow, and on I Monday will go to Lake Coleridge I to inspect the site proposed for the | electrical works. Mr and ?«lrs A. E. Moore, of Auekland. will, their son and ; daughter, have arrived at Inver- ‘ cargid. having motored from Auck land tn Weilmg’on. and from L.vt : triton to the Southern town.
