NICKNAMES FOR ROOSEVELT.
Mr. Roosevelt's predominating position in New York politics was shown in a remarkable manner at Carnegie Hall, where the Democrats’ principal meeting of the recent campaign was held. The meeting was an orgy of vituperation. The following were among the names which were applied to the ex-President. Gargantuan, Egotist, Galvanic Battery, Volcanic Eruption, Apostle of Tumult, Theodore ** Yea and Nay,” Protagonist of Misrepresentation, Liar, Prevaricator, Falsifier, Theodore of the Split Tonjue, Creator of Unrest, Instigator of Panic, Emulsion of Truism and Fallacy, Portent of Mischief, Maker of Braggart Threats, Possessor of Shaggy Manners. ' While thus being attacked. Mr. Roosevelt was attending a meeting at Baltimore of the Board of Foreign Missions of the Methodist Church, where he spoke on missionary work. He was introduced by Bishop Warren as the ” gift of God, Roosevelt.”
