AHURIRI v. ST. MATTHEWS
This match, which resulted in a win for Ahuriri by 5 wickets, was completed at Cornwall Park on Saturday. St. Matthew s second innings realised 104, the chief contributors being Masters 34, Seed 25, Campbell 14. Clarke 11, the wickets falling to Simmonds 4 for 21, Benson 4 for 34. and Tacon 1 for 3. Ahuriri needed 103 in their second innings to win the match, and these they obtained for the loss of five wickets. Anderson scored 26. Simmonds 24, Tacon 22. and Petersen 15 not. out. The successful St. Matthew’s bowlers weie Heald 2 for 21. Aldridge 2 for 23. and Land I for 22.
