O’BRIEN ON REDMOND.
SWALLOWED A RIDICULOUS PROMISE. London, Jan. 7. Mr. William O’Brien, speaking at Cork, declared that Mr. Birrell had frankly andp'ublicly told the Irish that even if the Lords adopted thf Veto Bill three times running in the present Parliament: under no cumstances could Home Rule be a queCion of practical politics before another general election. In in face of that warning the Irish swallowed "he ridiculous promise of an Irish Parliament before the Coronation the Liberals were not to blame. It was on the strength of that prouise that Mr. Redmond cheated his 'ellow countrymen ai America out of £40,000.
Mr. and O’Brien have contributed £lOOO to the All For IreJ and League.
