IS IT TRUE?
(To the Editor.) Sir. —A whisper is going the rounds in Hastings that an effort is being made in a certain business quarter to have a guardian of the peace shifted from Hastings because he dares to do his duty. In this respect the gentleman named has the good wishes of the community for having rid the town of a lot of fusiliers and no-goods, and for having insisted on the law being carried out without fear or favour. —I am. etc., WELL-WISHER.
