Races No?. 2,4, 5, 7 and £ open only to District horses, who have never wjm more than £3O in any one race, District Races excepted, Definition of District Houses—-Must have been owned in the Petane District at least two months previous to the date of Race Meeting. ,->uirh horses can lie trained any'where, but must be stabled within 'the District boundaries at night. Boundaries for the District are a? follow -.—From Waihua to Te Haroto Station, thence on in a straight line to Kuripapango, following the Ngaruroro River to the Omabtt bridge, then continue ou the Napier-Dmahu road to the Kwi.rlytte bridge, then on to and embracing the Springfield, North British, and P. Neagle’s (Green-neadows) Estates, from there follow NapierWhareraugi road to Inner Harbour, following latter to We?t?hote, and continue along sea beach to Y\ aibua. All horses in each and every race on the Programme to lie ridden by Gentlemen Riders or Emergency Riders. Ap plication? for the necessary permission to issue these latter permits will be made by the Chib to the Hawke s Bay -Jockey Club, the Metropolitan Club of the District.
No horse shall l»e allowed to start unless all nomination fees have been paid. Entries will only be received on the ■ condition that a decision of the majority of the Stewards shall be final on any point arising out of the definition of District boundaries. A limited number of Bookmakers Li.en?es will be issued at a fee of 3 Guineas each, with a deposit of £lO. Applications for licenses to be made to the Secretary before 11 a.in. on the day of the meeting. Any Bookmaker following his business without having first paid aud obtained a license will be removed from the ground and prosecuted as trespassers. Open Races—To be restricted to horses that have never won more than £4O in any one race at time of starting. The amount won by any horse in fiat races, hurdle races, or steeplechases respectively, shall not render such horse ineligible except in the special class of race in which it has won such amount. Minimum weight in all races to be 9st7lb»
