STORTFORD LODGE. The A ssoeiated Stock Auctioneers report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Stortford Lodge yesterday, when there was a good yarding of sheep and fat cattle, but Store cattle did not come forward in any quantity. Owing to the high reserves placed on the stock by the owners, very little changed hands under the hammer, but a few small lots were disposed of after the sale. Fat bullocks changed hands at from £B/11/- to £9 10 -, shorn fat ewes up to 12 4, woolly fat ewes 15 6. 2-tooth wethers 115. woolly ewe hoggets 15 - ; 123 ewes and lambs (all counted) made 93. and an extra line line of 2-tooth Romnev wethers made 13 -.

HAMPDEN’. Williams and Kettle, Limited, report as follows on their stock sale held at Hampden on the opening of the new yards last Saturday. A good attendance of settlers and others partook of refreshments and wished success to the yards. A yarding of moderate-class stock met with good competition, resulting in a clearance at market values. The prices realised for 2tooth ewes and wethers were from 9 - to 11 -. merino wethers 8 -. ewes and lambs, inferior (all counted), 6s. cull rams 10 -. milk cows to £5, hacks to £7. A fourweekly sale was announced. F * FARMERS’ DISTRIBUTING. COMPANY.

Wellington, Dec. 14. The annual meeting of the shareholders of the New Zealand Farmers’ Distributing Company was held at the company's office to-day. and was attended by farmers from the Nelson. Rangitikei, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Pahautanui and Hutt districts. The Chairman (Mr. James G. Wilson), in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, congratulated the shareholders on the very satisfactory condition of the company. Large additions had been made to the premises in order to cope with the increase in business during the coming season. A new departure was the issue of bonus coupons with each account of sales, entitling the holder to a rebate in commissions at the end of the year. The fact that no charge by the company was made for "receiving and delivery” was a great saving to its suppliers. Shareholders would all be pleased to know that the claim against the State Coal Department had been settled, the company receiving £650. The report was adopted, and the retiring directors. Messrs. J. G. Wilson. James Pearce and M. W. Welch) were re-elected unopposed. Mr. H. 1,. Vickery was elected auditor. The meeting passed a motion heartil.v thanking Mr. W. H. Field, M.P.. for his splendid services in assisting to arrive at a satisfactory settlement of the recent claim against the Government. At a subsequent meeting Mr. J. W. Wilson was re-elected Chairman of Directors.

Cassidy and Co., land agents, Station street, report the following sales of Hastings town property: Section 144 and 5-roomed house. Ou tram road, on account of IL G. Milburn to W. Holland ; on account of same owner, section 5, Nelson street, to John Stevenson ; on account R. H. Milburn, section 89, Ferguson street to Mr. F. Avdilaun. and on account of Wellington client, four sections and 6-roomed house, Queen street, to H. Fredrickson. They report keen demand for house property with from 1 to 3 acres of land within a radius of ] to 2 miles from town.
