Matthew Cooper, a laundrvman, : was to-day’ committed for trial on ■ a charge of having assaulted his ; wife so as to cause her bodily j harm. The woman has been in : hospital since 3rd inst., suffering from injury to the abdomen, and i is likely to be there another month, I though she is now out of danger. ! Bail -was allowed.
