ATHLETICS.

Sydney, Dec. 10. Morgan, from a 7ft. ring, threw a 161 b. hammer 132 ft. 2in., beating the Australasian record by 2ft. lin. SAILING. j SATURDAY’S RACES. ! As a mark of respect to the mem- ' ory of the late Air. T. AV. Balfour, I the Napier Sailing Club, postponed the second heat of the Victoria ' Memorial Cup. | The sweepstake race was sailed, but under very unfavourable conditions, for there was practically ino wind. The AVaimana, dose up, soon established a lead. Illinoie again got ahead, but towards the finish AVaimana managed to once more drift to the front and won the race. Times were as follows : AVai-

CRICKET.
