The Lyttelton Times furnishes an amusing affair which took place at the civil sittings of the Supreme Court for that district. A Mr. Garrick appeared in the costume of a barrister, when his Honor Justice Gresson, refused to hear him, as he was not in proper costume. His Honor said the costume of an English barrister is [that worn in Westminister, but that costume coiild not bo allowed to bo worn by solicitors in Hew Zealand. The costume worn in other parts of New'Zealand was solicitors costume. After a considerable amount of eloquence had been expended, the learned gentleman took off hie wig and laid it on the table before him amidst the suppressed laughter of those in court.
