LATE MR GEORGE ADAMS.
SYDNEY, Saturday. The will of the- late Mr George Adams has been published. The trustees are empowered to carry on any business which the deceased was conducting. After providing for annuities and bequests to relatives and others, and £IOOO to each of the executors for their trouble, the will directs them to sell his real estate and collect his personal estate in New South Wales and elsewhere, then in Tasmania, and out of the net profits of such sale to pay any mortgages or debts from time to time accruing. The balance of such net profits is to be placed in trust in favour of charities in the Commonwealth and New Zealand. The testator also gives to the same purposes all money and prizes in the sweep consultation business claim whereto may be or has become barred. The trustees have conferred upon them the fullest powers for carrying on the sweep business, and are directed to divide his profits in the following proportions :—David HastieHarvey, one-tenth; Thomas Lyons, one-tenth; Edward Elliott Grant, onetenth; William Joseph Adams, onetenth ; William Alexander Finlay, onetenth; Gerald Joseph Barry, onetwentieth ; the trustees, Sir Edward Braddon (deceased) one-twentieth, Sir Philip Fysh one-twentieth, Alfred Page one-twentieth; the estate of Henry Isidore Joachim Hooke (deceased), onetwentieth; John Bury Curran, onetwentieth; Henry Thorpe, Sydney, one-twentieth; for distribution at the discretion of the trustees among the employees of the sweep business, onetenth ; for the furtherance of the said business, one-tenth. The shares of any legatees falling in by death or otherwise go to swell the charity trusts. The will is dated March, 1901.
