[own oobeemondbni.] Tlie Woodville School Committee met on Monday evening. Miss Clara Franklin has been retained as pupil teacher, as Mr Eagar has been transferred to Dannevirke. Sir J. J. Meikle was in Woodville on Monday, and addressed an open-air meeting in Vogcl-slrcet on his grievances. To a good audience lie gave some very interesting side-lights on prison life, and urged tho necessity for a reform of the present system.
