A PAPAL CENTENARY.

LONDON, April 12. Tlie Pope, in the presence of 50,000 persons, celebrated mass at St. Peter’s on the thirteenth centenary of Pope Gregory the Great. ' The Gregorian music which Pope Pius is introducing into the services of the church were a special feature of the celebration. The Rev. Mr Bannister, an Anglican clergyman chosen to prepare an exhibition of Gregorian codices, discovered a tenth century manuscript of a beautiful sequence belonging to Gregory the First, and it was sung yesterday.
