[PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. At the inquest on tho kite Mr J. (*. Andrew, who was hushed while deerstalking, t he evidence showed that tho cause of deatli was damp and cold. The left leg was bruised below the knee, and this would impede walking. No bones were broken or sprained. From the appearance of the body it was evident that the unfortunate man had travelled through very rough country and dropped from exhaustion. Deceased’s Ixxly was found alwut nine miles from his camp and about two miles from another camp of deer stalkers. A verdict was returned that deceased died from exposure and exhaustion. John Cowper, 22 years of age, act-ing-shunter on tlie railway, was accidentally killed iu the Lyttelton yard last night. Deceased was riding on one of the waggons of the express train from the Gladstone pier to No. 2 jetty to go alongside the Wellington steamer. Another waggon standing on (lie line which joins that on which tho train was running was s<*t in motion by a sudden gust of wind and came into collision with the waggon on which Cowper was travelling, crushing him. GrimmomJ, who cut his throat in (ho stable of the Rotlirrfield Hotel yesterday, died in Hie Hospital to-day.
A man named Gimhlett, who was kicked by a horse at Woolston, was removed to the Hospital, where ho died to-day. ‘ DDNEDIN, Wednesday. John Leit/.ens, employed in the Norwegian claim at Waiiahuna Gully, was accidentally killed lasi evening while ramming blasting powder, which went otf.
