BARLEY. BRISBANE, Tuesday. Samples of barley sent to England liavo been pronounced by experts there lo be excellently suited for malting.
BUTTER. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Tho New Zealand Government Produce Commissioner at Home reports to the Agricultural Department that this season's New Zealand butter has been giving entire satisfaction to those handling it. No reports of fishiness in the m*tter have been made to him, although with butter from Australia complaints continue to he pretty frequent. It is said on the market that one result of the low prices accented for New Zealand and Australian butters this season has been to induce traders in districts that have not previously tried those butters to handle them. If so the amounts lost on those shipping on their own accounts will have to be written off as advertising expenses. Results to be derived in future years owing to that introduction and acfvertisement must be hopefully counted on.
