Hnddart, Parker and Co.’s s.s. Wes tralia is duo early this morning from Northern ports and Sydney. She leaves at 2 p.m. for Southern ports. The s.s. Tangaroa was due last night from Wairoa.
The s.s. Ahuriri loaded yesterday for Jfohaka and the s.s. VVeka for Arapawamii and Moeangiangi. Both were to leave last night. The Cnion Company’s s.s. Talnne is due to-morrow forenoon from Southern ports. She leives at 8 p.m. for Gisborne and Auckland, transhipping at the latter port to the Mokoia for Sydney. The Union Company’s s.s. Herald left Wellington at 6 p.m. yesterday, and is due this afternoon. She leaves this evening for Gisborne and East Coast bays and Auckland. As the Hawea cannot overtake all the cargo offering in the South for Napier and Auckland, the Kini will load at Camara on the 15th instant and Timaru on the 16th for this port. The Hawea is due at Camara to-mor-row, Timaru Saturday, and this port on .Monday. A Press Association telegram from Wanganui states that Captain Crawford, late skipper of the ffuia, and formerly i f the Stormhird, ha.s retired from the Wellington Wanganui Steam Packet Company, after 15j years’ service, and intends settling in Auckland, lie was on Tuesday evening presented with an address and a gold propellor attachment for his watch chain by the officers and members of the crew of the lluia.
The shipping entered at Gisborne during the last twelve months totalled 919,034 tons, as compared with 412,733 tons in the previous year.
