POSTAL DEPARTMENT.

[press association.] WELLINGTON, Saturday. The following promotions in the Postal Department have been decided upon : —G. Smallbone, senior clerk, Lyttelton, to be chief clerk at Napier. He will be succeeded by J. H. Kibblewhite, of Wellington. P, G. Harwood, moneyorder clerk at Wanganui, to be second money-order clerk at Auckland. His successor will be W. Brook, senior registered letter clerk at Wellington. R. D. Kelly, Auckland, will fill Brooks’ place. J. Crombie, Dunedin, to be senior parcels clerk at Christchurch, vice G. Whitehead, retired. H. Giller, Invercargill, will become second moneyorder clerk at Christchurch, vies W. to senior money-order clerk at the latter office. R. W. Porter will become money-order clerk at Invercargill, vice H. Giller. W. Bailey, Reefton, has been appointed senior clerk at Hawera. F. G. Chisholm, H. Cork, R. E. Lechner, and W. Stephenson are promoted to be chief clerks at Palmerston North, Masterton, Ashburton. and Gore respectively. F. Staples, Christchurch, is to become mailroom supervisor at Auckland. He will be succeeded by S. Daniel, Christchurch.
