A lighted candle ignited decorations in the Chapel Royal, Et James’. The officiating clergyman mounted the altar and graiped and extinguished the burning evergreens. Bbisbane, Wednesday,
Shillito's foundry at Ipswioh has been partially destroyed by fire. It was issneed for £2COO in the National and New Zealand offices.
Wellington, Wednesday.
A two-storied nine-roomed house on the Island Bay road, occupied by B. G, Knight, sailmaker, was destroyed by fire last night. The house was insured in the Commercial Union for £SOO. The contents, which were saved, were uninsured. The origin of the fire is unknown.
