The Hawke's Bay Farmers’Co-operative Association held their stock sale at Onga Onga yesterday, when they offered a big yarding of sheep—299s sheep, 35 rams, 24 head of cattle, and 10 horees. The lines were all cleared with the exception of two. Wethers were in good demand, but lambs and ewes did not sell well, buyers not caring to purchase ewes yet. We expect a gold demand at our next sale, on 2oth February. Quotations: 2-tooth wethers, 6s 3d, 6s 6d, 6a 9d, 7s, up to 8s 6d; 4tooth wethers, Bs, Ss 6d, 9s, 9s 9d, up to 10a 4d; 2-tooth cull ewea, Ca 6d; other poor lots 2s 7d to 4s 6d; fat and forward ewes, 7s 8d to 8s; cull lambs, 2s 6d; fair to good, ss, os 3d, 6a. Cattle : Fat cows, J65, £5 oa6d. 21-year heifers, £i 2s 6d. 21-year steers, s£4 15s 6d; 18-montha steera, J62 11a; 18-months heifers, J63j cows in milk, .£4 12a to £4 15a; 1 shorthorn bull, £o os. Dalgety and Co., Limited, report having held a successful sale at Onea 0; ga yesterday, when they offered 1780 sheep and 70 cattle. Practically the whole lot was cleared under the hammer and privately. Prices realised were as follows:-4-tcoth store wethers, from 7s 9d to 9s 6d; fat ewes, to 8s 3d j 2-tcoth wethers, from 7a 10d to Ss 3d; 3-year store bullocks, £i 17s, 6d; 2-year store bullocks, £i 2a 6d; yearling steers. JE3; yearling heifers, £2 15s. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited, report having held a very successful sale of stock at Ilsthcrpe on Monday, 27th instant, when they offered to a fair attendance of buyers about 3600 sheep and 30 head of cattle. Over 2000 sheep were sold and all the cattle at prices highly satisfactory to sellers; 4-tooth store wethers, very good, brought up to 9a lOd, other 4-tooth wethers from Sa 3d to 9s 6d; 2-tooth wethers to 7s. Only inferior quality ewes were offered, for which there was little demand. Fat heifers realised up to £o ss; store bullocks, 3 to 31-year old, £6 7s 6d; 2-year steers, £i lls. Mr Haycock provided a very enjoyable lunch, which was much appreciated.
