* UNITED A V. SCINDE,

This match was concluded on the Recreation Ground on Saturday, and resulted in a win for United A. United, with two wickets for 22, continued their innings, but the next three wiokete fell very quickly, five wickets being down for 33, including Trott. Macassey and Wallace, however, altered matters, both men hitting bard, and, favored by luck, took tbo score to 120, when Macassey was bowled by a beauty from Dent for 37. None of the others did much, and the innings closed for 169, of which Wallace made 78, Wallace had hit hard and showed good form, but had hard lack in being run out at the finish of the innings. Dent bowled splendidly, taking eight for 55 rune. The way he made the ball break from leg was very effective. Hallamore’s stumping of Trott off Dent was a fine bit of wort.

Soinde went in with 262 runs to get to win, but started badly, Hawke being splendidly caught by Trott at slip with the score at 3, Pulton was bowled with a fast full-tosser at 17, and Baker was bowled by Trott at 33. Dent and Hallamora took the score along to CG, when Dent succumbed to Trott after playing in good form for 31. Hallamore makes (he mistake of sending this player in too early considering the long spell of bowling that be had had Hallamore and Hussey both hit hard for 38 and 24 respectively. The innings was closed very qniokly by Ongley, who took three wickets for five rune. Trott bowled steadily throughout, but bo was breaking
