GREATER EXERTION NEEDED
Bscelvsd December 10, 12.U ajs. London, December 9, The commandos from the high veldt, in the Ermelo district, are constantly trying to break through to the north. Thirty, including probably the itinerant Boer Government, escaped on Thursday, under ooTer of a big demonstration. The blockhouses. Which are a mile apart are powerless to wholly stop the enemy escaping. The Times urges that the blockhouses should he built every 600 yards and connected by wire entanglements. *. The Times also says greater exertions are required to finish the war this year. It advises an appeal to the city of London to send more Imperial volunteers and the acceptance of all colonial offers of troops-
